Therapy for Couples
Couples therapy focuses on the issues and problems which exist in the relationship between two people.  Therapy can help you and your partner identify the areas of conflict and stress in your relationship, as well as what changes are needed for each of you to feel more satisfied in the relationship.

Couples therapy often involves learning different ways of interacting, communicating more effectively, and listening more closely to each other.  Therapy can help you and your partner change unhealthy patterns and create a stronger, closer and more fulfilling relationship with each other.

Individual Therapy
In individual therapy, you meet with your therapist one on one to explore and address areas of emotional, social and relationship difficulties which are affecting you.  These issues may impact your school or work performance, your relationships, even your day-to-day living.

Areas that are often addressed in individual treatment are:  relationship issues, self-esteem, depression, grief, anxiety, substance abuse, eating disorders, job stress, life crises, divorce recovery, anger, childhood abuse/trauma.

Family Therapy
In family therapy, the focus is on helping families change and improve the way families interact by working to increase understanding and facilitate communication within the family unit.  Family therapy is often utilized when the family system is contributing to and affected by one family member’s difficulties (such as a child or adolescent).

Effective family therapy does not place the blame on any one family member.  Instead, as an important member of your own family, you are each encouraged to express and explore your feelings and become more aware of your role in the family system.

Divorce and Child Custody Mediation
In mediation, you are involved in a voluntary and confidential process where your mediator facilitates discussions between you and your spouse or co-parent on the difficult areas and issues to help you negotiate an agreement.  Mediation can help you reach an agreement that will represent the best possible outcome for both parties and/or your children.
In divorce and child custody mediation allows you to preserve control over the future of yourself and your family. Together, you and your spouse or co-parent, will make the choices for the future:
   - how you will make major decisions about your children,
   - how you will share time with them,
   - how you will arrange for your children’s support or for your own support, and
   - how property should be divided and debts assigned.
All of these matters, as well as any other specific areas of concern, can be addressed in mediation, to create a more lasting agreement, reducing conflict and conserving financial and emotional resources.
